Beauty Tips For Lazy Girls

By Emilie. For easy wins with minimal effort.

Are you one of those people who snoozes your alarm at least four times every morning? Inspects your hair for signs of greasiness and then sticks it in a top knot? Does the sniff test on something you dumped in the washing basket three days ago? Good, us too. We might look groomed to the outside world, but the truth is, it’s all a façade. We’re cutting corners to get out the door the same as everyone.

Here are our favourite time-saving beauty heroes…

Fake tan that also doubles up as moisturiser. Can’t be bothered stripping down to paper pants and showcasing your dad bod during a spray tan? Good, us neither. Instead we choose to slather on gradual tanner after every shower. The Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Gradual Tanner  is our fave for an even natural-looking glow.

An excellent bronzer is a must. We use Bourjois Bronzing Powder and it’s perfect for dusting onto the apples of your cheeks, a little bit of contouring (build it up gradually for a notable contour effect) and even to perk up sleepy eyelids. Plus, it’s flecked with gold and smells of chocolate. What more could you want?

Dry shampoo. It’s a no brainer really, but as the owner of a fringe this one is particularly important. For fine haired girls like myself, dry shampoo is also excellent for adding much needed body to my otherwise limp locks – hey, sometimes I put it on clean hair just for the extra texture. I like Batiste Dry Shampoo Light.

Vaseline. Myself and my two best friends are absolute Vaseline fangirls, so much so that whenever we go out we always end up with three different coloured Vaseline tins on the table. It’s great for your lips, lashes, brows, eyelids, dry bits of skin and pretty much everything else in between. It’s a classic for a reason.

Nars Multiple. Yes, OK… this one is not quite so budget friendly as the rest. But once you factor in the fact that it does about a hundred jobs at once then you’re still getting excellent value for money. It has added life to our poor tired cheeks on many an occasion and you can also use it on your lips and eyes.
